Brother-Sister Love

Dax got to spend a fun weekend at my parents. Calleigh missed him. Here was her response to his return home. Once I grabbed the camera - they both hammed it up.

He Is Risen! Happy Easter!

Our "4th Easter" finally arrived Sunday. Every time we said we were going to an Easter thing - Dax would get this excited, astonished tone an go "what - there are 2 Easters?! and "wow - we get to have 3 Easters", etc. On Friday we were heading out and Dax said "oh - 3 crosses" I decided to start explaining more detail about why we celebrate Easter. I was so impressed when he started filling in the story - "and then they wrapped him in this stuff like toilet paper," "and there were two Angels" (I had to verify this one - sadly, I'm no bible scholar), "and there was Jesus and two men on the crosses - one was good and one was bad and the good one talked to Jesus" (had to clarify this one -one was repentant). I can't take credit for all this knowledge. We are so grateful to our sweet MDO teachers Mrs. Perez and Mrs. Campos. They pour out so much knowledge and the love of Jesus into this kid and he just soaks it all up. When I picked him up Thursday his teacher told me he asked them to pray for his mommy. Oh - these are the moments you love having children! And then there is Sunday morning - Easter morn he threw a huge tantrum about his Easter shirt (I had specially chosen and just happened to coordinate perfectly with Calleigh's dress) because it was short sleeve and it was slightly cold out. So he ended up in his blue shirt again (that I had to iron in less than 2 minutes - obviously). This wasn't a battle worth fighting as I needed to sit through brunch without him tearing at his shirt telling me its cold. I've never seen a child so opinionated about his clothes - who cares? I barely have time to find something clean and not too wrinkled that kind of fits. But Dax - he has all the time in the world to think, look through his closet, and throw tantrums. The change of season is so difficult on him in the clothes department. He wears that Superman t-shirt every other day because I know it will avoid a fit. On another note, Dax was perfectly happy with my chintzy basket from the ebunny (we bought a few things, scrounged through the cabinets and reused some of those egg hunt eggs) and Calleigh just got a few stickers and those baby crayon (don't buy those - they're no good). But I totally digress. What a wonderful day to celebrate. Happy Easter.

Easter Party

We attended a friend's Easter party Friday. Dax and Calleigh had a ball! Dax decorated a cookie (and promptly ate it), cleaned up at the egg hunt, then got to dye eggs. Calleigh loved all the attention of our host's teenage girls. She wasn't sure what to think of the boiled egg.

The Easter Bunny

Dax is comfortable sitting next to the bunny as he reminds me its just a man inside.

Calleigh seems to have a love - fear thing with both real and costumed animals. She ran from the bunny just far enough to turn around amd watch him.
