Dax has started telling me when he goes "poo-poo"
This morning he told me before he was going to go!
I'm pulling out the potty chair as soon as this sickness totally passes.
Sadly he's had to say this word too many times this week.
I think he is improving though.

My Baby is Sick:( - updated
So we are on day 5 of this. Most likely Dax has Rotavirus. It can last up to 8 days. Lots of vomiting & more. Dax has stayed pretty hydrated through all this which is pretty amazing - thank god for breastfeeding. He is barely eating. So far he's had toast, a few crackers and some rice. He's sleeping frequently. He just wants to be held all the time and is pretty cranky. It's exhausting me for him to be sick for so long.

Word Explosion
So Dax hasn't really been into the talking thing. He had the key words he needed and the ones he was interested in (mostly animals) and that was it. Until last week. Wednesday he had three new words, Thursday five, and the last few days I lost count. He's repeating so much of what I tell him now. It's really exciting and makes me want to explain everything to him. This is so much fun for mommy.

Children's Science Museum
I really like the Science Place (recently merged with Children's Museum that used to be in VV Mall). Its a great indoor place for those days we can't go outside. They are redoing a lot of it right now and its supposed to be completed by Summer. Anyways, they have this water table which Dax really likes. I learned after last time to take his shirt off before getting started. The museum has also done alot of clean up - so the water smocks are now usable and no longer have mold on them (yeah - gross!)

Back to the Arbo this week
So the weather has been gorgeous here and warm. Dax loved running around and exploring. We are still learning to smell and look, but not touch the flowers. Dax does pretty well the first few times he leans down and holds his hands to his side just like we've practiced. But after a couple of times he'll reach out his hand to touch the flowers and look back up at me to see if I'll allow it this time.
"Mr. Elf" : So there were two little girls on the lawn today. They were quite interested in Dax and said how cute he was. Then one of the girls looked up at me and asked if she could call Dax Mr. Elf because he had such big ears! Yeah, the momma in me wanted to wack the ugly little child, but the teacher in me prevailed and explained why that would be inappropriate.
