When I grow up, I'm going to marry...
So Daddy and Calleigh were talking about this. Explaining you can't marry Daddy or Dax or an adult. You marry a kid like you. Daddy listed off all the boys we know. Calleigh said no to all of them. Daddy asked - so who are you going to marry? She said - "Jesus!" She doesn't say a lot of kids names. She says only Dax, baby Mia, baby Jesus, & baby Moses. Thought it was cute.

Heart of a Child
Today Dax received a thank you card. It had his name written on the envelope and when he tore it open he was so excited to see a card with a picture of Superman. After passing it to me to read to him, he held this card with true gratitude and said "I'm sure glad M. gave me this card. It has superman on it. Superman has bigger muscles than batman. He can shoot lasers from his eyes because he is an alien. Batman is just a man..." Dax continued on holding and looking at this simple thank you card with long pause. Then, "Mommy, when we get home how 'bout we get some paper and some tape and wrap this card up for Daddy." Not fully understanding that Daddy would not have nearly the appreciation for a Superman card that Dax had, he thought of someone he loved and something he'd appreciated and he wanted to give it away.

So so thankful for a school for Dax
We are so thankful to have a good school for Dax for next year. We are so excited to see what this brings. (Of course, at our family interview today Dax and Calleigh were on their worst behavior probably due to some way too early naps.) We are so excited that Dax will be in a Christian environment and that we will be highly involved because of the structure of the university model school.

The girl drama has begun..
Calleigh now throws all out long lasting tantrums on whether her coat is buttoned, whether a ribbon faces a certain way, the color of her hair bows, and on and on.

Calleigh at 2 Years
Calleigh is such a sweet girl. She loves hugs and snuggling, but reserves her kisses for rare occasions. She and Dax are the best playmates. She does like to tease Dax as he does her and they occasionally have trouble sharing, but they adore one another.
Calleigh loves puzzles and blocks. She is obsessed with dogs (hence the dog cake) and with babies. She loves to be read books and likes to name the animals and items in pictures. Calleigh loves shoes - boots in particular. She is likewise very interested in choosing what she wears from her closet. She love "nk" and has to have the hot "nk" diaper on if she sees it on the shelf followed by the light pink as her second choice.
Calleigh is attached to a group consisting of a bear, two dogs and a baby doll which she wants in order to sleep. She won't sleep with covers, has to have her particular pillowcase, and needs socks and a hairbow to sleep. She is sleeping quite well in her big bed.
Our girl has a sweet tooth big time. She's a decent eater, but will forgo the whole meal if there is nothing to her liking. She loves "eese" - the shredded kind that ends up all over the table, chair and floor. She eats burritos, guacamole, pasta, peas, carrots, anything she can dip in ranch, syrup, or the rare ketchup. Calleigh tends to lick the sauce off rather than eat the vegetable or whatever is being dipped. Calleigh loves to cook for one reason only - to lick the beaters. She randomly pulls out bowls, butter, crisco, whatever she can reach and begs "ook, ook." Its the most adorable thing. She and Dax take turns adding the ingredients, but Dax gets bored quickly and leaves to play while Calleigh patiently awaits the end when she can have the beater.
