Yeah! We are back home!

Yesterday after a long car trip from Austin, I brought Dax in and set him in his room. He got so excited - kicking his legs and flailing his arms. I almost thought he must know that he was back in his own room. We were so happy to pick up Daddy at the airport last night despite the 5 hour delay which made it midnight and completely messed up Dax's night schedule. Dax went to a birthday party for the first time this morning. And we ran in to our friends at Starbucks who have the most precious new baby. What a good first day back. We loved staying with both sets of grandparents while Matt was away, but we are soooo glad to be home.

Lunch With Grandmother's Friends

Grandmoma treated us to Mark's restaurant. I ate mommy's carrots and Linda's avocado. It was really yummy.

Hi Daddy - We Miss You Sooooo Much. Love, Dax

I love my grandparents' dogs

My First Tooth

My teething ring.
Guess what - I have a tooth! I wasn't too happy when mom tried to put the camera into my mouth for a picture of the actual tooth, but here is a smile.

Carlos & Charlies After a long Boat Ride

We searched for a cup with handles AND a straw forever. I finally saw an ad for this munchkin one. And after some searching, Dax's Grandmoma found it for him. He loves it.

My First Boat Ride

My first boat ride. Mama and Uncle Bobby and Aunt Misty went Parasailing. I got to ride on the boat with Mommy.

Dax and Grandpa at the Computer

I really like teaching Grandpa all the computer stuff I know.

Hanging With Bonnie

Bonnie introduced me to Miso soup. You can see I ate it all up.

My Day With Grandmoma

Grandmoma kept me entertained while mom had our car towed after we got stuck on the side of the road. Then we went to the Houston Museum of Natural History and saw some pretty rocks. Then Grandmoma took us to the Cockrell Butterfly Center. I like scooting all around and found myself under this chair at Grandmoma and Grandpapa's house. The last pics are next day lunch with my Aunt Jill.

We Are Working On The Solid Food Thing

Who wants to eat food, when you can squish it between your fingers and toes.

Back To Breathing Treatments

Dax woke up about twenty times last night having trouble breathing. So we are back to the breathing treatments. Which means Dax gets to watch lots of Baby Einstein. (We watch the videos to distract him while doing the treatments.) When he finally gets to sleep for a short period, I wake up in panic because I haven't heard him in thirty minutes. I'm exhausted.

Dax Sweats Profusely When He Sleeps...

Dax fell asleep on me here. He was dripping sweat from his head. Is this normal? He does it all the time!

Slowly Mastering The Sippy Cup

Notice I'm paying attention to something in the background. Mom would like to say she was showing me a stimulating array of historic art or the music to a symphony or even just those basic ABC flash cards, but no, I was in fact intently watching American Idol with Daddy - so much for getting into that exclusive preschool.

Dax Not Impressed With THe Dallas Art Museum

Yes - After we went to the doctor we went to the DMA. It's free the first Tuesday of every month. I'm not good at staying at home - you can imagine what our apartment looks like! We just spent an hour there before they closed and Dax slept through the whole thing. I figured that if a ceiling fan interests him, surely I could find something there that would grab his attention, but he slept. We'll try again next month. (I dont know how to email respond to the comments)

Oh - Yea - I'm up to 20lb 14.8 oz!

Yikes - no wonder momma's back is killing her!

Allergies Allergies.

So Dax decided we weren't staying too long at the Arboretum today - he was reeeaaallly fussy. He supposedly has allergies and this is the season. But I needed reassurance he wasn't sick before we leave town. So we made a quick trip to the doc this afternoon and she still says its only allergies. We are going to try Clarinex again for a few weeks and see how he does. I've never really dealt with the allergy stuff much myself - so I'm not really sure what to look for other than the congestion. Any experts out there reading my blog? We'll see how he does in Houston and Austin.

Pics From Houston.

My friend Emily gave me these pics from her camera if I promised not to crop myself out of them. I don't really see a need to watch myself age as Dax grows up. It's just depressing. So here are both versions just for you, Emily. You have to admit the cropped versions are better!!
